An evergreen tree wrapped in burlap and placed in an egg basket flanks the buffet. The deer hanging above it was the inspiration for this years decor. The ornament hanging from his antler was my grandmother's.
A few years ago I purchased a beautiful gold deer for our dining room but unfortunately it was broken during a move to the attic following the holidays. For some reason I kept the antlers. Now I found a great use for them. Each was placed in a napkin tied with a blue bow and placed on our china.
Do you see my photo bomber? Our dog, Mary Grace is always interested in the neighborhood traffic. If you are a loyal fan of The Andy Griffith Show, you'll recognize the name Mary Grace. She was Thelma Lou's cousin...and she was "real, real nice".
I hope you are enjoying the fun that comes with decorating for Christmas! I'm taking it slow and staying in the moment. This is my favorite time of year and I want to savor every second!
